Legal
Cookie & Local-Storage Policy
We keep our use of cookies and browser storage minimal. Here is exactly what we use and why.
Last updated: June 7, 2026
Draft pending legal review. This document describes how the 8x product actually works today, but it has not yet been reviewed by counsel and may change before launch. It is not yet a binding agreement.
1. Strictly necessary
- Session cookie — set by our authentication provider to keep you securely signed in. It is server-managed and HTTP-only, so it cannot be read by client-side scripts. The site cannot function while you are logged in without it.
2. Analytics
- Vercel Analytics — privacy-friendly usage measurement that helps us understand aggregate traffic and performance. It does not build advertising profiles of you.
3. Local storage (not cookies)
Some information is stored in your browser's local storage and never leaves your device until you choose to submit a form:
- Application drafts (
8x_editor_application_draft,8x_reposter_application_draft) — so you can leave and resume your application without losing your answers. - First-touch attribution (
8x_utm) — the marketing source that led you to us, attached to your application only if you submit it.
4. Managing cookies & storage
You can clear or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings, and clearing site data will remove the items above. Blocking the strictly necessary session cookie will prevent you from staying logged in. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
5. Changes
If our use of cookies or storage changes, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above.
